Manager of Dorney Lake Angela Leslie has taken on a new challenge.
The Soroptimists are an international women's organisation. Locally, members undertake regular voluntary work like editing and reading for the talking newspapers, while supporting the Child Contact Centres in Maidenhead and Slough.
They also raise funds to help local charities and organisations like SHOC, DASH, Thames Hospicecare, the YMCA and the guides.
Angela has been a Soroptimist for ten years and took over as its local president from Irene Brooks.
She has chosen ADS (Alzheimers Dementia Support) and Berkshire Search and Rescue as her charities for the year, while inviting a representative from ADS to speak about the work of the charity at the May meeting.
Meanwhile she is keen to recruit more members. Visit the website http://sigbi.org/slough-windsor-and-maidenhead/.
