A dog was stolen from its kennel at a farm in Lee Lane in Pinkneys Green in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The owner was awoken during the night by 9-year-old Dina the Labrador but assumed she was disturbed by a wild animal.
In the morning they discovered that part of a fence was missing, allowing a person to force their way into the farm, and Dina was no longer in the kennel, which had been re-secured.
A similar incident happened last year when the dog was removed during the night, only to return one month later.
The owner believes the pet was taken by someone living rough in the area as company.
Call police on 101 with any details.
