A post mortem carried out yesterday following the unexplained death of 73-year-old Colin Partridge at restigious Ascot Nursing Home has failed to reveal what killed him.
Meanwhile a 63-year-old woman arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder remains on bail until June 16.
Mr Partridge died at the nurshing home in Burleigh Road on Saturday, March 22. But the investigation into his death was not launched until a report was made to police five days later on Thursday, March 27.
The post mortem was carried out by a Home Office pathologist and police say the initial results are inconclusive. Toxicology tests are being carried out that may provide more of an answer.
The nursing home's manager Jill Chu has released a statement confirming that Thames Valley Police have arrested a nurse working there. She said everyone was 'completely shocked', adding: : "We are co-operating fully with police, social services and the Care Quality Commission to provide any information they need in relation to this case.
"We have a long track record of providing outstanding care and are committed to continue to do so."
The home is based in an Edwardian house. It is a registered home to 75 people, mainly sufferers from mental illness.
