The A404 has been named and shamed as one of the worst roads in Britain.
A study by WeLoveAnyCar.com showed that 58 per cent on all journeys along the A404 to the M4 were delayed - making it the third worst road nationwide.
It falls only behind the A52 Brian Clough Way in Nottingham and the A61 from Barnsley to the M1.
After releasing the list of the 10 worst roads, a WeLoveAnyCar statement said: 'According to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead website, Maidenhead is ‘famous for it's excellent travel links.’
'Physically the links are in place but, with delays experienced by motorists in 58 per cent of all day time journeys, clearly something needs to be done to alleviate travel stress, attract tourists and, most importantly, attract business to the area.'
Statistics are based on the Department of Transport's 'on-time' car figures, which are still being tested but data goes back to March 2011, with more than 2,000 stretches of road being regularly monitored.
