A new team of first aiders on bicycles is being assembled to treat people in need at large events.
The St John Ambulance cycle responders will be at events that attract huge crowds and make it difficult for vehicles to get to a casualty, such as festivals and marathons.
The bikes are kitted out with enough equipment to effectively make them mini-ambulances and it is hoped seven new cycle responders will join in March to add to the existing team of 10 in Berkshire.
Volunteers are trained up to bikeability level three and taught to carry out CPR, as well as how to use equipment like a defibrillator.
