Red carpet treatment for care home residents

A Hollywood-themed film festival was staged at St Mark's Nursing Centre in Maidenhead.

Residents dressed in their finest attire to attend the event on Thursday, where they walked down a red carpet before the screening of 1933 movie 42nd Street.

Care workers did the women's make-up and a prize Oscar was given to the best dressed female and male.

Winners were 88-year-old Joyce Harrison and 80-year-old Ron Berry.

Kaye Denham, activities co-ordinator of the centre in St Mark's Road said: "It was absolutely wonderful.

"It gives them a chance to get all dressed up.

"They loved the glitz and the glamour."
