A two per cent increase of the police precept has been endorsed by the Thames Valley Police and Crime Panel.
The region's Police and Crime Commissioner, Anthony Stansfeld proposed the increase to raise more money for the force due to a £11.4m cut in Government funding for 2014/15.
Residents in band D properties will pay £160.52 per year towards police as part of their council tax bill.
The panel - which includes one councillor from 18 authorities and two co-opted members - approved the proposal on Friday.
