Roadworks cause severe traffic tailbacks into Maidenhead

Roadworks and lane closures are causing traffic chaos for drivers en route to Maidenhead this morning.

At 9.30am drivers reported traffic was still at a standstill into town with queues stretching from the Braywick Roundabout, along Braywick Road and to Grenfell Island.

Delays have been caused by a lane closure in Grenfell Road, opposite the Three building, heading out towards Frascati Way.

There is also a broken down Mini Cooper on same side of the road, just before the entrance to Maidenhead Station.

In Bourne End, roadworks being carried out by National Grid in Ferry Lane have caused queues stretching from Cookham Bridge to the Cores End roundabout.

Drivers are being forced to take alternative routes into the town centre.
