A new exhibition showcasing historic maps from the area is now on display at Maidenhead Heritage Centre.
The collection includes a proposal for a 10-runway airport at Heathrow, tourist maps for Thames Valley dated 1926 and novelty globes.
A rare German Luftwaffe map of White Waltham Airfield from 1938 which identifies the base as a target for air attacks and an 'upside down' copy of the river at Cookham and Sashes Island are also on show.
Entry is free and the exhibition will close at the end of March.
