Budding astronomers have been invited to join a stargazing event.
Maidenhead Astronomical Society is inviting everyone from total beginners to professional stargazers to join them in looking at the night sky.
Stargazing LIVE is set to run on BBC Two from January 7-9 and the society is expecting the television show to inspire people to take to their telescopes.
The Stargazing LIVE event will run from 6.30-9.30pm in association with BBC Learning at Braywick Nature Centre on January 11.
The society will also be sending astronomers to take part in a live show on January 7, which is to be broadcast from HMS Warrior at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth.
No booking is required for the event on January 11, parking and entry is free, all ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.
