Queues have been stretching down the A4 this morning as shoppers head into Maidenhead to get stocked up for the Christmas break.
Readers have reported cars have been lining up to get into a packed Waitrose store, in Moorbridge Road, and Sainsbury's, in Providence Place, to ensure the turkey and the brussel sprouts are ready for the big day.
Sainsbury's store manager David Mackenzie said the store had been 'extremely busy' and said he believed shoppers had set off early on Monday to avoid the bad weather.
He added the store had been 'doing very well' over the festive period and added: "The free parking over the weekend has definitely raised footfall in the town centre and I think that's been a massive success."
