A new 'fast' bus service between Windsor and Maidenhead should be in place by February.
The Royal Borough's strategic manager for transport Ben Smith presented the good news to members of the cabinet when they met on Thursday.
The Department for Transport is footing the bill, which will see the new service provided by Courtney Buses. It is expected to take half an hour travelling between the two towns.
