Oakley Court Hotel in Water Oakley has been sold.
Colliers International announced the sale to Lake Opportunities Limited for an undisclosed sum today.
The property advisers was instructed in June to find a buyer for the business and property after Oakley Court Hotel Limited went into administration.
Julian Troup, Head of UK Hotels Agency at Colliers, said, “Oakley Court Hotel is one of the finest and most renowned country house hotels in England and the result that was achieved exceeded our expectations.
"We were able to generate interest from right around the globe."
Rumours circulated in October that the building had been sold to an Indian conglomerate, the Sahara Group, which would transform it into its UK headquarters.
These rumours were later dismissed.
The gothic-style building gained notoriety during the 1960s and 70s due to its location next to Bray Studios.
It was used as a film set for several Hammer House of Horror films including Dracula, as Frank N Furter’s castle in the Rocky Horror Picture Show and as the film set for the 2007 St Trinian’s film.
