Budding directors played a leading role off-stage at Claires Court's drama showcase.
Senior girls in years 10 and 11 spent the autumn term learning how to direct the younger pupils at the school's drama club and their efforts were played out in front of an audience on Monday.
The young actresses rose to the challenge of learning scripts and their peer directors guided them through creating the characters and re-working their performances ready for the big night.
Kate Warren, head of drama at Claires Court Girls, said: "The girls have shown immense commitment, coming in on Sunday to rehearse.
"It was well worth it though as it was a very successful evening.
"The real test of their skills will be when some of them perform to a much wider audience at Art on the Street in Maidenhead next month."
