Nominations for the Get Berkshire Active Inspiration and Participation Awards 2013 were officially opened by Sophie Christiansen.
The triple Paralympic equestrian gold medallist appeared at an event at Newbury College to share her inspiring story with budding athletes.
"The awards are a great chance to showcase the County’s unsung sporting heroes, recognising the talent and dedication in Grass roots Sport across Berkshire," she said.
The awards recognise people who inspire others to take up physical activity and individual and team excellence in sport.
