A man who painted graffiti onto a wall of Maidenhead Mosque was sentenced at Reading Magistrates Court today.
Gary Nuth, 23, of Blackamoor Lane, admitted to four charges on October 9 at Reading Magistrates Court.
He was convicted of racially aggravated criminal damage to Maidenhead Mosque on June 8 and racially aggravated criminal damage to a road belonging to the Royal Borough next to the mosque.
Nuth was also convicted of stealing a can of paint and criminal damage to a building site.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order of 270 hours of unpaid work, which would have been 300 hours if he had not pleaded guilty.
Nuth, a sales executor, was also given a 12 months probation and ordered to pay £150 in compensation to the Royal Borough, costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £60.
A second man, who was also convicted on charges in connection with the criminal damage to the mosque and road, will be sentenced on November 22.
