A mother and daughter team have proven that artistic talent is certainly a trait which runs in their family.
Charlotte Oldroyd, eight, won first place in the children's category at Art on the Street's first ever 'a moment in Maidenhead' drawing competition, with mum Rachel finishing second in the adult competition.
The drawing-duo won prizes for their sketches of The Big Issue vendor in the high street.
"I wanted to draw something colourful and I wanted to draw a person," said Charlotte, who won an easel and a range of drawing materials.
Rachel said: "It's the first time we have done a competition together.
"I'm proud and pleased that Charlotte got a better place than me."
The pair draw together at home and Charlotte said her younger sister, who also has an artistic hand, could prove tough competition next year.
Thomas Hedger won the adult category.
The event raised £100 for Open Kitchen and the drawings will hang in Maidenhead Heritage Centre from Tuesday, December 3, until the end of the year.
