The Hare and Hounds has closed and has been sold by Enterprise Inns after more than 20 years ownership. The pub has been run by three tenants since 2009 which includes winners of BBC series The Restaurant and the owner of The Two Brewers.
The out-of-town location and lack of consultation with neighbouring houses have been suggested by former customers of the pub in Marlow among reasons for its repeated closure.
It was sold to new owners by Enterprise Inns, which had owned the site since 1991, in September and is now closed.
The pub has been run by three different landlords within a four-year period.
This includes a stint in 2009 when it featured in Raymond Blanc's BBC2 series The Restaurant, a programme which saw couples compete to run their own restaurant with the hope of starting a permanent venture.
The winning couple were given The Hare and Hounds premises which they opened for business in July 2009 and was renamed as The Cheerful Soul.
It closed its doors after less than a year.
In early 2012 it was taken on by Anthony Burnham the owner of The Two Brewers in St Peter Street who ceased running the pub after nine months which he says was for 'personal reasons'.
Pauline Rockell, 73, has lived in Henley Road for more than 20 years said former landlords haven't always catered for the 'older' demographic of the road's residents.
"It's the most peculiar place, 30 years ago it was buzzing," she said.
One resident, who has lived in Henley Road for 18 years and does not want to be named, said neighbouring householders never been asked what they would like to see in the pub.
Annie Mulady, former president of Marlow Town Chamber of Commerce said:
"The Hare and Hounds has struggled over the past 10 years, it is one person after the other."
She added: "It could be the fact it is slightly out of the town or perhaps it is the fact that people aren't going out as much."
Property agent Drake & Company, acting on behalf of Enterprise Inns, was unable to comment on its new ownership.
