Arts workshops were enjoyed by pupils from Newlands Girls' School on Tuesday.
More than 50 girls from the years seven, eight and nine joined the arts taster session at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Altwood Road.
The girls were split into groups where they tried out samba drumming, lantern making or drama classes.
Olivier Lawrenson-Gore, Norden Farm's educational officer, said it was an opportunity for the girls to see art in a professional context ahead of deciding which GCSEs to study.
The girls lanterns will be amongst those on display at the arts centre's Shakespeare Lantern Parade through Maidenhead on December 14.
