Overnight resurfacing work on the A404 northbound between Burchett's Green and Marlow starts tonight.
There will be overnight lane closures and temporary traffic lights.
The northbound carriageway will be resurfaced in two phases from today until Friday, October 18 and from Monday, November 4 until Friday, November 15.
Guy Watts, Highways Agency project sponsor said: "Once complete, drivers will notice a smoother road surface and improved journeys.
"To minimise disruption we will be carrying out the work overnight, when traffic flows are at their lowest, and one lane will be kept open at all times so that traffic can pass safely."
Work will be carried out between 9pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, with no work on weekend nights.
Resurfacing work will be carried out on the A404 southbound on the same stretch of the motorway early next year.
