The Thames Valley Adventure Playground in will receive a well-earned donation thanks to the efforts of one determined runner from Maidenhead.
Hannah Sharp, 25, will take part in the Action for Children ultra-marathon on Saturday, September 14 - running an incredible 50km to raise money for the play area for children and adults with special needs.
The Moor Lane resident will run the route from Runnymede to Henley in memory of her friend Sarah Lewis, who passed away in May 2010 and worked tirelessly to support the charity based in Bath Road, Taplow.
"It’s all a little bit crazy," said Hannah, who works for the ambulance service. "I wanted a new challenge.
"I have done a half-marathon before and I have also done a 125 mile canoe race.
"I've done a lot of training but I still wake up every morning absolutely terrified. I think 90 per cent of it is mental so if I can overcome that, I can do it."
Hannah is closing in on her original target to raise £500. Click here to donate.
