Furze Platt Road closed after car hits lamppost

Furze Platt Road in Maidenhead was still closed at 9am this morning after a car hit a lamppost in Furze Platt Road opposite Cranbrook Drive shortly before 7am.

Firefighters had to release the trapped driver using hydraulic equipment, returning to Maidenhead fire station at 8.45am.

The driver was taken to Wexham Park Hospital by ambulance in a life-threatening condition.
