New proposals to allow a Majestic Wine Warehouse to move in to the Tesco Express site in Bath Road in Maidenhead have been put forward to the Royal Borough.
The plans propose to introduce sufficient flexibility to the site's planning consent to allow the wine merchant to trade from existing floor space in the building, near Castle Hill.
The application is a resubmission of similar plans which were rejected by the Royal Borough in December, but are set to go before a public inquiry on September 17 and 18 following an appeal.
The initial plans were rejected following concerns about inadequate on-site parking and highway safety.
The application letter from consultants DPP states there is 'no justifiable reason' to refuse the variation, and approval would negate the need for the public inquiry, resulting 'in significant time, cost and resource savings for all parties'.
Consultation will continue until Thursday, August 15.
