The only school to break-up early because of the July heatwave is the Royal Borough's flagship £26m Manor Green School in Maidenhead - because it doesn't have air conditioning.
Headteacher Ania Hildrey has described the move as 'one of the most controversial and disappointing actions' she has taken but had no choice as classroom temperatures soared to 30 degrees.
Parents were asked to 'voluntarily withdraw' their children from the special needs school in Elizabeth Hawkes Way on Thursday afternoon.
The school has not reopened. Its scheduled last day of term was supposed to be yesterday.
No other Royal Borough schools closed early.
Mrs Hildrey explained her decision in a four-page letter sent to parents.
