Maidenhead MP Theresa May was the guest of honour at Maidenhead Mosque on Thursday.
Joining members at the Holmanleaze site, she helped launched Iftar 2013.
The Iftar is an evening meal that breaks the Muslim fast during the holy month of Ramadan which started on Wednesday and will carry on until August 9.
This year, mosques across the county will be opening up their Iftar celebrations to a variety of people from across the world.
The Home Secretary said: "The Iftar's in Mosques are a wonderful way to bring communities together and to help people understand the Islamic practices that take place in mosques."
