A team of four from Claires Court Senior Girls School in Maidenhead rocketed to chemistry pentathlon gold at the University of Reading.
Emily King, Daisy Fowler, Hannah Levi and Isabelle Wheeler competed against 10 other schools from across Berkshire in five chemistry based challenges at the event on Wednesday last week.
The year nine team from the school in College Avenue were victorious in a candle-powered boat race, a rocket launch and a slime competition, which helped to secure the overall win.
Science teacher Jenny Mulhearn said: "They worked well collaboratively."
"It was a fantastic opportunity to explore science outside of school and a great win for the girls."
