A surprise gift was donated to two carers from Halcyon Homecare on Wednesday last week.
Senior carers Maggie Wallen and Ann Lockley both received a silver photo frame and a Darlington glass carriage clock each at a private ceremony in Oakleigh House, Altwood Close in Maidenhead.
The gifts had been donated by Fred Smith, who passed away in February aged 88, and who had wanted to give his carers something to remember him by.
Both Maggie and Ann had looked after the former D-day veteran and model plane enthusiast since 2010.
Managing director of Halcyon Homecare, Paul Dunn-Sims, said: "He was a great character who never lost any of his fire to tell us what he wanted."
