A Maidenhead bar well known for showing sports is now competing for a prize of its own.
Bar Sport, in Grenfell Island, is one of six finalists fighting to be crowned the South East and London’s ‘Best Sports Pub’, in the BT Sport Great British Pub Awards.
Owner and manager Kareem Naaman sent off a paper application in May and found out on Sunday that the bar was a finalist.
Kareem, who opened the bar in June 2012, said: “I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved in a year.”
The bar will be visited by a team of judges who will decide if it is regional champion by July 29.
