A block of vacant flats in Maidenhead could soon be back on the market after cabinet members voted in favour of refurbishing the council-owned 15-17 York Road.
Recommendations for a £350,000 refurbishment and the transfer the flats to the Royal Borough's trading company, Two5Nine, were agreed at a cabinet meeting at Maidenhead Town Hall on Thursday, last week.
It is hoped eight, one-bedroom flats will be created with a rental price of at least £750 per month.
Cllr MJ Saunders, cabinet member for planning and property, described the move as a 'no brainer' and added: "I don't want to be part of a missed opportunity where a relatively modest amount of investment could generate a considerable return."
