Clean up underway after 'frothy' discharge in river

Another clean up operation is underway on the River Thames after 'frothy' water was discharged into the River Thames on Tuesday from Little Marlow Sewage Treatment Works.

Thames Water said the unsightly mess was the result of heavy rain water but insisted it was not raw sewage.

Efforts to repair technical problems at Little Marlow Sewage Treatment Works are still underway after a series of  'accidental' leakages at the site have resulted in raw sewage being pumped in to the river.

A statement from Thames Water said "Everything that can be done to improve things for residents and river users is being done as quickly as possible."
