Responses to a public exhibition of plans to transform Berkshire House into more than 60 homes were 'overwhelmingly positive' according to developer Essential Living.
The exhibition took place in an empty retail unit underneath the eyesore off Queen Street in Maidenhead on Thursday and again on Saturday.
More than 120 residents attended and a spokesman for Essential Living said the company was 'delighted'.
"Most people said they supported transforming the building into high quality, town centre housing and they liked the initial design concept," he said.
"We will be reviewing the feedback over the coming weeks and finalising our plans before submitting a planning application later in the summer."
