A group of charity fundraisers are preparing to pull on their walking boots and set off on a 40km trek across the South Downs today.
Mum-of-two Julie Greatwood is taking part in the Across the Divide challenge along with six friends.
"Some of us have suffered as we are not as young as we used to be," said the Bisham Road householder of their training efforts.
"It is nice as we have trained together as there is always someone to talk to along the way," added the 49-year-old who teaches antenatal and postnatal classes in the Marlow area.
The group have been walking up to three times a week since November to get ready for the challenge and have had to endure cold weather and blisters as part of their training.
Julie, who has been a volunteer and trustee of the Windsor based charity since February last year, is hoping they can raise more than £1500.
She decided to take up the challenge after being inspired by the work the charity carries out and rounded up her friends to join in.
