Calling all imaginative children who would like to design their own 'thank-you' card.

This week is Children's Hospice Week. To celebrate, the team that runs the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service is organising a competition.

All you have to do is design the front of a special A5 thank you card that could be sent out to people when they have done something kind for the charity.

It is just £1 to enter and the winner will see their card professionally printed and will also receive a surprise gift.

The Devine charity is based in Slough, was started by Windsor couple John and Fiona Devine in memory of their son Alexander - and is raising money to build a children's hospice in Maidenhead.

Susie Knowles, community fundraiser at Alexander Devine said, “We are constantly overwhelmed by the support we receive from our local community, we are incredibly grateful and feel it is really important to say thank you to our wonderful supporters - what better way than from the local children of Berkshire.”

Send your entries to the charity’s head office, 113 Whitby Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 3DR.

Payments can either be sent by cheque or simply go to and pop your pound on there, remembering to include the entrants’ name.

Please include your name, age, address, telephone number and school when sending your entries in. Competition closes Friday 7th June 2013 at midday.
