Thief leaves empty-handed after ransacking home

A burglar ransacked a home in Maidenhead before leaving empty handed.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the break-in at a house in Windsor Road at 2.15pm on Tuesday.

The thief smashed a window at the back of the property before searching inside.

A neighbour called the police after hearing the alarm go-off and seeing the burglar walking down the side of the house.

The man was last seen walking down the A308 Braywick Road.

He has been described as a white man with an athletic build, clean shaven with short blond hair. 

He was wearing blue jeans and a red long sleeved tracksuit top with yellow writing on the back.  He also wore white trainers.

Anyone who remembers seeing this man in the area or who has any information, can contact PC Natalie King of Maidenhead police station via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
