Work is underway to clear the former site of Target Ford in Stafferton Way in Maidenhead ahead of building work to construct a Lidl supermarket and Lok'nStore storage facility.
The derelict garage has been demolished and workmen are preparing the land for the £4.5m project to bring the firms to Maidenhead.
A spokesman for Lidl said work was on track ready for an opening in spring or summer next year.
Planning permission for the development was granted in 2011.
