Legendary comic Tim Brooke-Taylor is used to making people laugh on the crazy radio quiz I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue.
But his 'quizzical' talents came in handy closer to home on Friday last week when he acted as quizmaster for the relationship counselling charity Relate.
Tim is president of the Relate centre in Marlow Road, Maidenhead and readily agreed to preside at the fund raising 'pub quiz night' at the York Club in Windsor Great Park.
An earlier attempt to hold one in January had been snowed off. But this time - despite a further threat of the white stuff - 100 people turned up, raising £1,662.
Generous Mandy Raund who has just started her own soup making business Soup da Loop in Old Windsor also donated £1 for every soup she sold.
Tim said: "I'm a great admirer of the work Relate does, having learned much about it through my wife, an ex-counsellor. Relate helps couples and families improve their lives and create a better environment for themselves and their children. I'm proud to be president in Mid Thames and Bucks."
