To celebrate Songkran - Thailand’s traditional New Year festival - premium Thai lager brand Chang Beer has teamed up with the Thai Dance Academy to offer diners an authentic Thai experiencel.
Events include a dance performance on Tuesday, April 2, at the Thai Orchid in Ray Mead Road, Maidenhead, from 7.30pm.
Songkran is celebrated over three days during April, the hottest month of the year in Thailand.
Traditions include colourful parades, religious ceremonies and even a water- throwing finale, where people drench each other in water to represent the washing away any misfortunes of the last year.
Dressed head to toe in exquisite embroided costumes and wearing Thailand's traditional spiral crown the chada, the dancers will showcase colourful and vibrant performances of Thai classical dances including the khon and lakon noi.
Geoff Tirrell, general manager of Chang Beer UK, commented: "Songkran is one of the most exciting occasions in the Thai calendar and a great opportunity for diners to engage with Thai traditions.
We want to bring the warmth of Thai culture to the UK, whilst educating customers about the country's traditions, which are so integral to our history as a brand."
