A mum-of-two who runs a spray tanning business out of her home has been shortlisted for a national beauty award.
Liz Thompson, who runs Lizzy's Beauty Boutique in Braywick Road, Maidenhead, is nominated in the spray tanner of the year category for the English Hair & Beauty Awards, which take place in Manchester on Sunday.
The 38-year-old originally worked in PR but re-trained and started her own business six years ago after giving birth to her first child, Lola.
She said: "What makes me quite unique is that I never worked in a salon before. I don't think there will be many independent people at the awards at all."
Liz, who is originally from Essex, said the secret to a good spray tan is 'all in the preparation'.
Members of the public were encouraged to vote for their favourite salons and businesses for the awards, before each category was narrowed down to five final nominees.
