Repair work to the central reservation of the A404(M) in Maidenhead will start on Monday.
Temporary speed limits and width restrictions will be in place along the two-mile stretch of motorway which is situated between the A404 and M4.
Overnight lane closures will also be in effect between 9pm and 5am seven nights a week to allow work to take place.
Guy Watts, Highways Agency Project Sponsor said: "Safety is a top priority for the Highways Agency and we want to ensure that the A404(M) remains safe and reliable.
"The barrier supports need replacing along the entire stretch and we will replace worn out sections of the barrier itself at the same time."
Work is scheduled due to be completed by the middle of April.
