Maidenhead Warriors complete comeback to leave Wizards in a spell

Teams in the Thames Valley Football Development League marked Remembrance Sunday with a minute’s silence before playing a series of entertaining matches this weekend.

In one of the closer u11s clashes, Maidenhead Warriors (above) edged out the Marish Wizards 3-2 having fallen two goals behind in the first half. Goals from Caden Lawson and Martino Colletti dragged the side level before Dhruvansh Tellis scored from the spot to complete the comeback with a few minutes to go.

In other u11s Group 3 games, Chalfont Saints Hornets ran out comprehensive 14-0 winners over George Green Juniors and S4K Leopards beat Harefield United Blacks 8-5 at home.

In the Group 1 and 2 games, Berkshire Elite defeated Chalfont Saints Leopards 6-1, Explorers Blues beat Maidenhead United Eagles 4-1 and the FC Holyport Hunters were 5-2 winners over Burnham Juniors Tigers Blue. RedKore and Townmead Youth drew 2-2.

At u12s level, Burnham Junior Lynx Blue lost 1-0 to Singh Sabha, FC Cippenham Panthers played out a goalless draw with Cookham Dean Rebels and Burnham Junior Lynx White convincingly beat FC Baylis Club 10-0. Delaford Colts White almost matched that in their 9-0 win over FC Cippenham Tigers and the Marish Wizards ran out 8-1 winners over Slough Town Junior Stags.

Burnham Juniors Sabres Yellows u13s made up for a slow start to beat FC Holyport 4-1 in Division 1. Having fallen behind to Robert Hern’s powerful strike, they scored twice in both halves to claim a comfortable win.

The Golden Eagles beat Berkshire Elite 2-1 in an end-to-end thriller, with Gabriel Shekiluwa-Cardoso and Daniel Carty scoring the Eagles goals. Hassan Mohtaji also saved a penalty when the scores were locked at 1-1. The result keeps the Eagles top with six wins from six.

Elsewhere Harefield United beat FC Cippenham Leopards 4-2, a scoreline matched by Townmead Youth in their win over Chalfont Saints United. In Division 2 Burnham Juniors Sabres White won 5-3 away at Frontline and RedKore cruised to a 7-0 win over the Golden Eagle Flyers, Maidenhead United Cobras also enjoyed a thumping 9-3 win over Singh Sabha.
