Marish Wizards Reds
Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC
Player of the match Kai Enser netted twice as Maidenhead Boys & Girls u15s Colts won 3-1 away at Ashridge Park in EBFA Group 11. The Colts recovered from going a goal down with Enser netting from what looked an impossibly tight angle. Their other scorer in the victory was Declan Pinto.
There was also a 3-1 away win for the u18s Santos side at Camberley Town Youth Rovers in EBFA u18s group 6.
The u17s Boys were beaten 4-1 at home by Curley Park Rangers Spitfires in group 4, while there was a reversal of that scoreline for the u14s Sharks who won 4-1 way at Reeves Rangers Hoops in group 12.
The u13s Dolphins beat Wokingham & Emmbrook 3-1 at home and the u13s Foxes lost 6-4 at home to the Maidenhead Panthers in a high-scoring game. Saurav Gummalla scored one of the goals of the game for the Foxes from outside the area.
The u13s Panthers held on for a nervy 6-4 victory over the u13s Maidenhead Foxes in group 10. The Panthers tore out of the traps, scoring three times inside the opening 13 minutes through Senna Anagho, Callum Neeson-Roberts and Harry James. Neeson-Roberts and Anagho netted again to give them a healthy 5-1 lead at the break, however, the Foxes scored three quickfire goals to bring it back to 5-4 with 10 minutes to play. Thankfully, the Panthers dug in with Anagho completing his hat-trick to finally take the game away from the Foxes.
Manager Roland McGill said afterwards: “Really pleased the boys kept plugging away in the second half.
“Both sides had more chances to score but I feel we deserved that narrow victory. I'm sure there are quite a few tired boys out there now.
“Great effort all round and every one of them contributed loads to the result. Man of the match could've gone to a few boys but goes to Senna Anagho, not just for his hat-trick but all-round effort and rally keeping the Foxes on their toes.”
The u12s Dragons lost their BYDL Division 1 match 2-0 away to Centre Skills Red, while the u12s Jaguars beat Wokingham & Emmbrook Tigers 3-2 in Division 2.
The u12s Girls lost 4-0 at home to the Wargrave Hurricanes in Cup Group A and the u13s Girls drew 2-2 at home with the Wargrave Lions in Cup Group A.
Becky Tinnelly netted a hat-trick as the u15s Girls won 4-3 away at AFC Reading Memphis Belles in Cup Group A.
