Maidenhead Girls enjoyed a successful weekend as both their u12 and u13 were crowned champions at the Maidenhead u12/13 tournament last weekend.
23 teams from across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Hertforshire entered the event but it was the hosts who came out with both trophies – the first time they had achieved the feat.
Maidenhead u13 girls (below) were on scintillating form as they stood firm defensively, not conceding a single goal in regular time before beating two strong Denham sides in the semi’s and final 1-0 to go the tournament unbeaten.
It was the first time the girls has been crowned champions at this age group after losing out on penalties last year.
The u12s enjoyed a similar day as they were also undefeated while not conceding in regular time before stylishly navigating the later stages of the knockout rounds with a 2-0 and 3-0 win in the semi-final and final.
