Twyford Comets have successfully secured a McDonald’s FA Community fun day to run alongside the club’s annual Football Fun Day this year.
The club, who were founded 47 years ago, have grown rapidly in recent years, going from 180 members in 2016 and 15 teams, to over 300 members and 27 teams in three years.
That growth is in no small part down to the accessibility and hard work the club offers for players to get involved.
In the 2018/19 season the Comets continued to promote diversity at the club by starting an u10s girls side and an u8s
That has helped the club grow and, after securing a McDonald’s FA Community Fun Day, will no doubt showcase the passion the club has for getting as many
involved in the sport as possible.
The fun day will take place on Saturday, July 6, with the club stressing that anyone, regardless of footballing ability, can come down and take part. All football activities – which include a number of inflatables and an inflatable pitch – will be managed by qualified FA coaches, who will be on hand to give advice and support.
The event will take place at King George V Recreation Ground, Loddon Hall Road, Twyford between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
