More than 70 dignitaries, council staff, leaders from community groups and charities in the area and representatives of different faiths gathered for a reception in Taplow last week.
The evening on Thursday, November 10 at Taplow Court gave the Windsor and Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) a chance to thank individuals and groups that have supported them over the years.
WAMCF has been strengthening trust and friendship among the different faiths in the community for more than 40 years.
Alka Kharbanda, the High Sherriff of Berkshire was in attendance, as well as Royal Borough mayor Cllr Christine Bateson, Slough mayor Cllr Dilbagh Singh Parmar, Royal Borough council leader Andrew Johnson and Cllr Helen Price.
This was one of the first public events to be held at Taplow Court following the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Guests enjoyed being in the main house which was previously the home of the Desborough family including philanthropist and Olympic athlete Lord Desborough.
Karnail Pannu MBE, Chair of WAMCF, said: “What a fabulous event. It was wonderful seeing both old friends and new faces.”
WAMCF's final dialogue will be held at the Maidenhead Mosque on Tuesday, November 29 from 7pm - 8.30pm. For more details on the group, visit www.wamcf.org
