A choir for girls aged between 10 and 18 is celebrating its 30th year with a special concert in March.
The Jewel Tones was started by musical director Suzanne Newman in 1990 and was previously called Vivace and subsequently Charvil Girls’ Choir.
The singers have taken part in several festivals, competitions and concerts and travelled to Ireland, Holland, Wales and Belgium.
The choir, which has also raised lots of money for charities and shared concerts with many other groups, has also been invited to sing with Laurie Holloway and Blake.
The celebratory concert is on Sunday, March 15 at 3pm at Norden Farm in Maidenhead, with the girls being joined by the Crosfields School Chamber Choir and former members of Jewel Tones.
Suzanne said: “I feel very proud to have run the choir for 30 years. Very many happy memories. I have chosen some of my favourite songs from the last 30 years for the concert and I am enjoying working on the songs with the present choir members. We have past choir members coming to watch the concert and it will be great to catch up with them all.”
Tickets are £10 from www.nordenfarm.org or call 01628 788997.
