A shop in Twyford has been fined £195 after it pleaded guilty to selling alcohol to an underage person.
Sapra Retails Ltd, trading as Loco Store in Longfield Road, Twyford, was handed the fine at Reading Magistrates Court on Friday, November 11.
It will also pay £1,334.60 to cover the cost of the investigation and a £30 victim surcharge.
In a ‘test purchasing exercise’, organised by the West Berkshire and Wokingham Trading Standards Service, a 15-year-old volunteer entered the shop and was sold a four-can pack of Guinness without the seller verifying their age.

Cllrr Pauline Jorgensen, executive member for residents’ services, said: "It is imperative that retailers of potentially harmful products take adequate steps to ensure that alcohol is not sold to young people.
"This includes taking steps to ensure that staff are adequately trained and that there is a robust proof of age policy in place."
