Discounts were enjoyed by Friday’s shoppers at the Italia in Piazza market, outside Waitrose in London Road.
Alongside the country-wide touring market, which travels the UK selling what it promotes as real Italian cuisine, were two local businesses, Hare Hatch Sheeplands garden centre and Riverways Farm.
Both offered a variety of offers to customers who went to the market, with Riverways having sold eggs at half price and Sheeplands giving away five daffodil bulbs with every purchase.
Gordon Storey, leader of the business forum at Twyford Together, which helped promote the market and encourage businesses from the area to get involved with it, said: “Everybody was very pleased, there were lots of special offers, lots of our members there.
“It was very good.
“We have agreed that Italia in Piazza are coming to the Christmas fair with three or four stalls.”
The market will next return in February, and Gordon and Twyford Together, formerly known as the Twyford Village Partnership, hope more local businesses would take part.
