David Pearce and Sayeed Islam represented the Maidenhead Athletic Club (MAC) with pride in the Marathon des Sables which saw temperatures reach 60 degrees Celsius in Morocco.
The pair were overcome by the mammoth target of 24 miles on day two but plan to return to the desert for a second attempt.
Closer to home Greg Marsh completed the 50km ‘Run to the Sea’ race in Bournemouth in 05:19:17.
There was a PB for Alejandro de Campo at the York Marathon, which granted him a Good For Age place at next years’ London Marathon.
He supressed tears of joy after completing the race in a fantastic time of 03:08:06.
Further PBs were claimed by club members at the Oxford Half Marathon. Lara Edmonstone-West (01:58:24) and Derek Philip-Xu (01:59:08) were delighted with their times and represented the club well alongside Monique Deutschmann.
On the South Coast, Caroline Mallet claimed a PB in the Great South Run with a time of 01:24:25.
Gareth and Suzy Ralphs were a formidable pair at the Suffolk Half Marathon as they were sixth and second in their respective age groups.
Finally, Sam Gillespie and Chris Sutton were rewarded with a cabbage and 8 bottles of London Pride for their efforts at the Cabbage Patch 10 in Twickenham.
There will be displays at Windsor Racecourse and Legoland, local fireworks in Burnham and Twyford and smaller displays at schools in the Royal Borough.
