Maidenhead United's Junior teams have kicked off the new season in some style, with the u10s Whites producing another encouraging display against Henley.
With memories of last season's six-goal draw still fresh in the mind, this was once again an entertaining affair, with Stan earning the players' player of the match (POTM) for his four goal haul and determination to win the ball all over the field.
Joe also scored a hat-trick and he earned the manager's POTM.
The u10s Blacks showed plenty of tenacity in their match against Finchampstead Cobras. Coach Tony said: “We didn’t lie down and POTM went to Lachlan for tenacious tackling and great skills in tight spaces in the middle of the park.”
The u10s Braves were missing a couple of players for their match with Singh Sabha, but coach Phil was still proud of how they faced up to a strong and technical Sabha side.
POTM went to Harry N, who whilst not fully fit or feeling too well, put in a real shift for the team.
Meanwhile the club's newest u10s team, the Vipers, pictured in the club's brand new kit for 2021-22, are nicely settling into life in the Berkshire Youth Development League.
In the Thames Valley Development League, Burnham Junior Lynx Blue ground out a 2-1 win at Cookham Dean Rebels.
Freddie Barnard fired in after a mix-up in the Cookham defence but the scores were soon level courtesy of a sublime freekick from Leo Russell. But Burnham edged a close game thanks to a second goal from Barnard.
In the other Division 1 games, Singh Sabha cruised to a 7-0 win over 4FuturePro and FC Cippenham Panthers beat S4K Wolves 3-0.
In Division 2, Cookham Dean Dynamos thumped FC Cippenham Tigers 10 - 0. Will Hayward, Josh Gurney, an own goal and a brace from Oli Cooper made it 5-0 at the break. .
The second half was also one-way traffic, with five further goals scored.
Archie Mennie scored two of them and the other three came from Jack Bushell, Tanish Nori and Benedict Pierre.
Burnham Junior Lynx White had a 3 - 2 victory at home to Marish Wizards Whites and Delaford Colts Whites eased to a 9 - 0 win against FC Baylis Cubs.
In the u13s age range, Burnham Junior Sabres Yellow won 7 - 0 at Chalfont Saints United and Golden Eagles beat Harefield United Youth 4 - 3.
Gabbie Cardoso scored all 4 goals for Golden Eagles.
