Maidenhead Athletics Club's runners take on Burnham Half Marathon

The conditions couldn’t have been better for running the Burnham Half Marathon and 10k, on Sunday, August 15. This was the event’s 40th anniversary, due to be held last year.

To celebrate, the course was run in reverse and many runners seem to have preferred this. As usual this was a really well organised race with a great atmosphere and plenty of encouraging marshals.

The half marathon started at 9:15am followed by the 10k at 9:30am.

There was no gun time, just chip time, so no jostling for position at the start.

In the half marathon Maidenhead Athletics Club (MAC) had nine runners and the first home was Jon Regan in a time of 01:22:12 in 10th place overall. The first lady home was Catherine Sadler who was running her first half. She finished in 01:51:19

In the 10k, MAC had eight runners and the first home was Peter Oldham in a time of 00:50:39.

Dave Waterman was third in his age category in the half marathon and Pauline Siddons (pictured) was first in her age category in the 10k.
